Lesson 6 - All For You
All For You
Do you know how may stars there are in our galaxy? Do you know what makes the planets in this vast universe of ours hang in space? There are new stars and planets being discovered in our universe constantly. The wonders of our universe cannot be measured. How did all this come about?
In the bible, we read that God made the heavens and the earth. The book of Genesis tells us that God made the sky, the air we breathe, the sun, the moon, the oceans, trees, birds, fishes, animals, the entire environment and then God made man. Genesis 2 verse 7 says, “God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul”. Many people today believe that the world just appeared over time. Let me tell you a story.
One day a little boy called Johnny, woke up in the morning to find in his room, a beautiful model of an aeroplane enclosed in a shining glass case. It was the most beautiful aeroplane Johnny had ever seen. The plane was painted with his favourite colours, blue and yellow and on the side of the plane was written the name “Johnny”. Johnny was so excited, he ran out of his room and shouted to his mum and dad to come and see what he had. Anxiously, his father and mother rushed into his room. As they entered in, they saw what Johnny had been so excited about. Then his father said, “Well, how strange that such a beautiful thing should have appeared in your room by chance!”. “Oh dad”, replied little Johnny, “this never came by chance, someone put it there. Its my birthday today!” His father smiled and replied, “You are quite right, my son. This plane could never have appeared by chance. I built that plane for you and your mother and I placed it there as a surprise for your birthday.” Little Johnny knew that someone had made it and it was placed there for a reason
Similarly, boys and girls, this world could not just appear by chance over time. Someone had to create it for it to exist and there is a purpose why it was created. God created you and me, and he created the world for us to enjoy. The world was perfect before he placed man in the Garden of Eden. We are God’s special creation and are like no other earthly creatures because God made us in His own image (Gen 1 v 27). He gave man a physical body as well as something called a soul, which lives forever and never dies. God gives man the ability to know Him and to have a relationship with Him. We can speak to God even in our own little corner and He will hear us. Isaiah 55 v 6 says, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” Children, God loves you. In fact, He loves you so much that he has sent His only begotten Son to die for you. John 3 v 16 says, “For God SO loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” If you believe in God’s son, the Lord Jesus Christ, then God has promised you will have everlasting life in heaven.
